This course is designed to prepare the officer with the  K-9 Recertification CourseThis is an annual course that is a required course by state law. Each K-9 team (dog and handler) is required to have a recertification to ensure they are equipped with the proper skills to work together in the line of duty. The course will require them to perform specific tasks as a K-9 team, such as building searches, vehicles lots, traffic stops, day and night searching, real life scenarios designed by Universal K-9 Inc. that will prove the capability of the K-9 team. We encourage any K-9 team to take our unique course whether they have purchased a K-9 from Universal K-9 Inc or another provider. We will be more than happy to provide the recertification to any K-9 team.   K-9 Trainer/Instructor CourseThis is a 10 week course that is a great experience for handlers to enhance his or her skills and learn many different ways to train a K-9.The course will deal with shaping up his or her handling skills while learning how to handle all different types of dogs with different personalities. During the course the new trainer will learn the proper steps needed to take a green dog and mold it into a finished dog. Also they learn to adjust the training methods to each dog’s personality. The trainer will learn to balance out the discipline and affection the dogs need to perform at the highest level. Trainers will learn what to look for during the selection process of a green dog to purchase. Without this knowledge the process can be difficult and very costly. Trainers will be required to teach a class before completion of the course. This will ensure they have the knowledge needed to be K-9 trainer. 10 week course minimum.  ObedienceUniversal K-9 Inc offers basic obedience for all dogs. Our basic obedience will include on leash sit, stay, come and heel. Off leash and hand commands can be added. We train obedience in the following languages: English, Czech and German. Obedience training will instill control and patience in your dog. |
